Coordinated Plan members are those who have started their service covered by SPTRFA on or after July 1, 1978. The Coordinated Plan members are able to receive benefits from both Social Security and SPTRFA after retirement, assuming that they meet the eligibility requirements.

Basic Plan Member Brochures
Basic Plan members are those hired by the St. Paul Public Schools prior to July 1, 1978, with no breaks in service and those who did not elect to join the Coordinated Plan in 1978. The Basic Plan is a defined benefit plan.
